By now there’s no secret that the Michigan State Spartans’ rise to the top of the Big Ten has been built on the strength of its defense more than anything else. The architect of that rise was defensive coordinator Pat Narduzzi, however he is off as the head coach at Pitt for the 2015 season.
That means transition, even if most of it is internal is happening. With Narduzzi gone, internal co-defensive coordinators will be deployed with Harlon Barnett and Mike Tressel taking on those duties.
Will that transition be seamless? Could Narduzzi have been the magic making thins group so good?
The 2015 will certainly be a good bellwether for those answers, and that’s because plenty of talent returns to this squad. So, let’s take a look at the 2015 MSU defense and see how things stack up.
